Two cases dismissed in their entirety in One Week.

October 2019

It has been so busy that we've been ignoring this page of our website. But this week was so good that we have to brag.

Twice in the past week, the State Attorneys Offices have dropped our clients' DUI cases in their entirety.

In the Twelfth Circuit (Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto Counties), we were scheduled for a Motion to Suppress Evidence on Monday afternoon. The police had failed to protect the rights of our client, who had been injured in an automobile crash. Police took a blood sample from our client without her permission and without a search warrant, as required by the U.S. Supreme Court. The prosecutor realized that the State was going to lose the contest to admit the blood test, and without the illegal blood test, there was no case against our client.

So on October 3, the prosecutor agreed to dismiss the case against our client in its entirety. Another happy Hudson client.

Then just six days later, the State Attorney's Office in Key West agreed to dismiss the charge against a different client. More information on that case to come!
