All Charges Dropped against Hudson Client

April 2016

This case began as what could have been a DUI case.  Our client was sitting in a golf cart on St. Patrick's Day, just hanging out with some friends and drinking beer.  Someone stomped on the gas, and our client wound up an unwilling motorist, and the golf cart shot across the street, injuring another reveler.  For reasons unknown to us (perhaps they realized that our client didn't intend to drive), the police never charged a DUI.  However, they did charge Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Providing False Information to the Police.

This was strange, because according to six people who were present at the time, our client never left the scene, and never told any false story to the police.  It just seemed that the officers were angry that someone was injured, and want to charge someone with a crime.  Our prompt investigation provided the State Attorney's Office with all of the information they needed to know that they didn't want to clog up the halls of justice with this barking dog of a case.

So the case was dropped.  In its entirety.  Happy client.
